Goals are being met so far. I’ve already got my one Twitter chat out of the way (I might pop in on the others, but the Monday mid-day one is always best for my schedule). I hopped around to some blogs (though without a goals linky, it was pretty slim pickings as far as finding things to actually comment on today… sign-up posts tend to be pretty bare). And I finished my first book.
I also didn’t have a specific goal for challenges, other than to do “some,” but I did one of those today as well. The Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt was too much work for me. But the New Year’s Resolutions one was fun, quick, and creative… everything I look for in a Bout of Books challenge.
New Year’s Resolutions Challenge:
I don’t really make resolutions, but two broad goals I have for the year can be summed up by Bloodline, by James Rollins, and Still Alice, by Lisa Genova. Since I’m six months pregnant, one of my biggest priorities is obviously to do everything I can to care for my baby as he or she develops from a newborn into a nine-month old by the end of the year. But another equally important priority is not to lose myself to motherhood. Yes, my life is going to change drastically… but I’m still me.
So that was my Day One. How was yours?
