I mentioned a while ago that I was nominated for a Liebster Award over the holidays!
There are a whole bunch of rules that go along with the award, and since I don’t follow them, I can’t technically accept. But random questions are always fun, so I like to at least do that part of it. So, my questions, as asked by 3kids2cats1divorce:
Best book you read in 2013?
I avoided naming a best overall when I was going over favorite books of the year. But if I had to pick one, it would have to be The Green Mile. It completely blew me away. Absolutely phenomenal. (For all my choices, here are the winners of The Cheapy Awards.)
Favorite new thing you’ve discovered in the past year?
I honestly can’t think of anything. I don’t get out much. If I had an answer to this, it would probably be food-related.
It really irritates me when…
…people aren’t respectful of my time. I’ve tried to get better at going with the flow, but as an “always early” person, it’s really frustrating trying to make plans with “always late” people.
Silliest thing that makes you really happy?
My cats. It’s really hard to stay miserable when you’ve got a little ball of fur curled up next to you.
I’m happiest when I…
…can get out of my own head.
I cry when…
…I stress over stupid things.
When I was little, I wanted to be…
…a teacher or a writer. Those were my two earliest choices and I can’t remember which came first.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Grab my phone. First to turn off the alarm, but then I usually check messages I’ve gotten overnight or drowsily browse Twitter while waking up enough to actually get out of bed.
What chore do you always put off doing around your house?
Anything that involves hardcore scrubbing.
Why did you start your blog?
Because I wanted to talk about the books I get excited about (which are often different from the books everyone else seems to get excited about).
