The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

Another day, three books down. I probably have one more in me. I did the challenges again (both heavily influenced by my most recent read). Maybe I can get all of them this time around? We’ll see…
Double Date Book Challenge:
Lori asks what two books we would recommend to go together. Here’s my response:
The two books I would pair are Elizabeth Wein’s Code Name Verity and Ken Follett’s Eye of the Needle. Both are about spies during WWII. They tell two very different war stories, but I think they’d go well together.
Deb invites us to create a “found poem,” using words taken randomly from a book. We can use a couple of our own to help smooth it out, but it was still really challenging… especially since I’m not a poetry person at all. But, here’s what I came up with:
Here’s my found poem based on my current read, Code Name Verity.
To stop all makes nothing peculiar.
You and I
can coast forever…
Three days left. Who’s looking forward to the weekend? Is there anyone, like me, who’s actually more productive during the week?
